In celebration of the publication of our Clarity* Project website, we thought we would invite you to have a look at what our Business Process team has been up to since its creation at the beginning of the year of 2015.

You may recall, if in fact you have a keener sense of observation and are aware of us at all, that our team was established in February to map all end to end financial processes in Dixons SSC, as well as all processes in Nordics and UK&Ireland that have an impact on these processes.

You may be asking yourself, “What’s the point?” Well, in the true spirit of the Clarity* project, let us clear this up for you right here and now! Besides meeting the auditor’s needs, Clarity* is all about bringing transparency and yes, you guessed it, clarity to how things work here in our beloved Dixons SSC.

Have you ever wondered what another team does with the report you send them? Or what conditions have to be met before an activity can be considered complete? Or perhaps who has to give the final authorization of a purchase order? Perhaps you are a newcomer, trying to keep yourself afloat in the wild ocean of confusion of your new positon, every five seconds having to ask your friendly but always too busy colleague for advice. Well we say “End to the unknown!” There is nothing that brings us more pain in this life than a question going unanswered. 

With the help of our new team members we have swum the English Channel, flown through the green smoke of the Netherlands, traversed the infamous Swedish meatball mountains and almost challenged a Norwegian Viking to a dual to bring an end to the questions once and for all.

Whether you are looking for process maps, work descriptions, or simply who does what in the form of a RACI Matrix (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted and Informed), you can find all of this on our new internal website.

As of yet, with the ever so appreciated and helpful cooperation of our stakeholders across Brno SSC, UK and Nordics whom we will cherish forever, we have been able to publicize:

  • 115 Process Maps
  • 70 Work Descriptions
  • 3 RACI’s (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted & Informed Matrix)
  • 2 SOP’s (Standard Operational Procedure)
  • 5 RACM’s (Risk and Control Matrix)

 

So please, if you ever find yourself pondering how something is done and you have the all too familiar instinct to ask the colleague next to you, check out our website instead and find your answer immediately in written form and in a visual representation. Needless to say everyone will surely be in awe of your sudden newfound independence.
