CIPD starts in September!

We are happy to announce the start of another certification programme in our company – CIPD.

Because of the increasing seniority and complexity of tasks in the teams dealing with HR agenda (HR & Operations and HR Administration departments) there is a need for development that would reflect these changes. With regard to this, the CIPD certification is a perfect way of responding to these changes, enabling the participants to perform their jobs with outstanding results.

What exactly is CIPD?

CIPD (The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) is one of the world’s leading HR and people development bodies, with over 140,000 members in 120 countries and 100+ years of history and experience. CIPD drives research work and surveys in areas of HR and defines a global benchmark across all levels of the HR profession. 

CIPD membership keeps the HR professionals up to date with developments in the fast-changing HR profession, ensuring professional recognition in the workplace. CIPD certifications give HR professionals the recognition and mark of professional competence, enhanced career prospects and a wealth of other benefits. Furthermore, the certification is recognized internationally, making it especially valuable for people working in international environment. PwC’s Academy is an approved provider of CIPD qualifications within the CEE region, therefore will provide it also for Dixons Carphone.

What kind of qualifications are there?

PwC’s Academy has been cooperating successfully with CIPD for almost 7 years and more than 250 professionals have already accomplished CIPD qualifications with the Academy in the CEE region. Currently, there are 2 levels of the CIPD Certificates offered on the Czech market: 

  1. CIPD Certificate in HR Practice (Level 3) – for key talents in HR or those who want to further their HR career with a professional qualification.
  2. CIPD Certificate in HR Management (Level 5) – for those who are already working in a managerial position in HR, leading a team of people or those who want to develop their skills and enhance their knowledge at the management level.

How exactly will it work?

At Dixons Carphone, both of these levels will be realized, starting in September. In the Level 3, there are 9 participants, while 4 of our employees will take part in the Level 5. The certification consists of workshops and webinars and will take 10 months to complete. Workshops will happen on weekends, so the participants’ don´t have to make special work arrangements. Here are some of the opinions of the participants:

I am excited about such opportunity to participate on CIPD certification and deepen my knowledge in Human Resources field. I want to see it from global perspective and be able to think constructively about its issues. As the company is now trying to find the best way to unify two HR departments in Brno and in Belfast, it would be more than useful for me to understand the background and contribute to smooth merger. I am glad that I am in and will do my best to complete this challenge.

I have not been working in HR for a long time but I like the job and I can see my career going this way in the future. Therefore I am glad I have the possibility to take part in the CIPD course. I have already got basic skills and general idea about working in the HR sphere and I think that the CIPD will be a great opportunity to develop and get new skills and broaden my knowledge about the HR. I find this a big advantage to be among the first ones in the Czech Republic participating in the CIPD course and I hope I will use it in practice and it will allow me to grow in my career.

Who is the tutor?

Since the quality of the courses usually depends on the trainer, it is a pleasure to have a great one. Vanda Šinková has extensive experience in HR management. Currently, she is the leader of CIPD Centre of Excellence for the PwC Academies in CEE, and is delivering CIPD qualifications in several CEE countries. In her HR leader role, Vanda has been responsible for the overall HR management agenda, as well as for the strategic HR and change management, organizational and talent development.
